More useful writing links!
A DnD alignment quiz that's sometimes useful when getting a feel for your characters.
This page has a couple zip's that are really helpful when using a language other than your own, whether it's a real language or a conlang. The site has a few other interesting things scattered about on it, a timeline generator for example.
The 36 Dramatic Situations: exactly what it says. Helpful when trying to think of a plot point! Warning: is a link to wikipedia, don't spend the day on there!
limyaael 's complete fantasy rants: this page organizes a huge series of articles about things often done irritatingly in fantasy. Despite the name, there are a few rants not on that page--for example, she still occasionally writes new rants here. V useful and fun reading!
This site has a lot of useful info on what to figure out for your world.
These two sites have a lot of generators to kickstart your muse!
Hope all that's useful. Also, a governmental style and its definition for fellow writers:
Anarcho-Dictatorship. Rule by a dictator who's powerful enough to make an entire village/town/country/whatever do anything s/he wants, but who usually just doesn't bother. As a system of government, it's effectively an anarchy that does, technically, have a head of state. To be this form of government, the dictator has to be recognized as the ruler--if it's just someone who could be a ruler if they wanted to, it's a missed opportunity, not a government.
