momemordridYes, I finished more of these. :) And this time there's a story!
Arthur Darling explained that Mathew couldn't come to the party his parents were going to "Because children aren't allowed; after all, Francis will be there." Francis grumbled something in French that Matthew only half-caught. "Dear me," Arthur replied, "Was it something I said?"
Nobody saw the grumpy faerie outside the window.
As the Darlings left, there was a commotion in their backyard. Francis didn't notice it and Arthur ignored it (as he did with most local faerie goings-on), but there was a flying boy chasing his shadow.
"Get back here!"
"Nuh-uh, ya cain't tell me what to do, I suceed!" his shadow somehow replied.
"Jerry, talk to it, you understand this gibberish!" the boy tried, but his faerie companion was having none of it.
"Tain't gibberish," he insisted rebelliously.
The boy chased his shadow up the wall and crashed through a window into someone's bedroom. After the startled occupant understood what was going on--to a degree--he decided to do the polite thing and help by stepping on the shadow, trapping it. The flying boy tied his shadow back on and it fell silent, as all good shadows should be. The faerie, however, complained loudly about the capture.
Alfred Pan decided to reward his new friend by teaching him to fly.
After explaining how faerie dust worked, they were off! Well, first Alfred had to repeatedly reassure his new friend that he didn't need to go to bed. Bed was no fun! He couldn't understand why the other boy kept making these polite suggestions about the time.
After flying his new friend to Neverland, Alfred left Matthew with his other friends, the mermaids for a while. They would keep him company.
